POSITION TITLE:
Middle School Teacher POSITION
Summary:
To provide a Christian educational atmosphere in which students will move toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, and spiritual growth and maturation in accordance with Gracepointe Academy's goals and objectives.
This position reports to the school Principal and to the Pastor of Gracepointe Church.

Qualifications:
Education - Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

Computer Skills - Basic understanding and knowledge of the use of current technology, as required for the position.

POSITION EXPECTATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Expectations Demonstrate knowledge of child/adolescent development, learning process, student's skills and knowledge, language proficiency, interests, and special needs.
Demonstrate promptness in arriving at work on time and reliability in regular attendance.
Conduct after-school tutoring for 2 hours each week.
Attending all staff meetings.
Manage classroom procedures, including the management of transitions, materials/supplies, non-instructional duties, and supervision of paraprofessionals and volunteers.
Regulate and enforce grading procedures.
Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness in academic instruction according to student needs.
Ordering curriculum and maintaining curriculum inventory.
Promote the school daily.
Participate in a professional community by building relationships with colleagues, involvement in a culture of professional inquiry, and participation in school projects.
Actively communicate with parents.
Actively supervise students at all times, showing awareness and knowledge of all student activity and behavior.
Use questioning and discussion techniques when addressing student questions.
Responsibilities Supporting the Spiritual, emotional, and academic growth of every student in your class.
Creating an environment of respect and rapport between teachers and students and between students and other students.
Establishing a culture for learning by demonstrating the importance of content, clearing expressing expectations for learning and achievement, and encouraging student pride in work.
Expediting daily routines by answering questions, quizzing students before tests, and grading work at opportune times.
Answering academic questions, adding information, and enhancing understanding.
Supervising all media stations in the classroom.
Praising students and encouraging them to do their best.
Communicating with parents regarding academics and activities.
Coaching students to set goals and reach objectives.
Encouraging Scripture memorization.
Conducting Daily Devotions.
Maintaining accurate records.
Making sure the classroom and all desks stay organized and tidy.
Planning 3 field trips per year, 2 of which need to be educational in nature.
Growing and developing professionally through the enhancement of content knowledge and prerequisite skill, receptivity to feedback, and service to the profession.
